Delete your Deutschi account
Last updated: July 20, 2026
This page explains how users of the Deutschi app can delete their account and request deletion of associated app data. It applies to registered accounts and automatically created anonymous guest accounts.
You can delete your account directly in the Deutschi app under Settings → Delete Account. Registered users may need to sign in again before deletion for security.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Deutschi app.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.
If you use a registered account, the app may ask you to authenticate again before deletion. If you use an anonymous guest account, the currently authenticated anonymous account can be deleted directly.
Request deletion without app access
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:
Please include:
- the email address connected to your Deutschi account, if you registered with email and password;
- the Google account email used for sign-in, if applicable;
- any information that helps us locate and verify the account if you used an anonymous guest account.
Do not send your password. We may need additional information to verify that the request belongs to the account holder before deleting data.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we delete the Firebase Authentication account and associated app data stored for that account, including profile records, selected support language, learning and lesson progress, short-story progress, and saved vocabulary records.
If deletion is completed inside the app, the app also clears local app preferences on the current device. Data stored only on another device may remain there until the app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Data that may be retained
Deletion is intended to remove the account and associated app data. Some limited data may remain temporarily where required for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, provider backups, billing, or technical logs. Firebase documentation notes that Authentication backup systems may retain deleted data for up to 180 days before it is fully removed.
